More About Us
Due South West is a website that specialises in music from the South West of England. We feature artists that aren't ordinarily covered by mainstream music media. There's very little journalistic output in the South West for all types of music, and that is Due South West's vision - to provide coverage for all people and every variation of music in the South West. We cover gigs, review new albums and do interviews. But we desperately need your support. If you're an artist that would like their work reviewed, you can send it to us. Alternatively, if you're a young freelancer that wants to try their hand at music reviewing, or gig reviewing for the site, contact us and you can become a part of the Due South West site. From Penzance to Devizes, if you like music originating from one of the most beautiful and culturally rich parts of the United Kingdom, this site is definitely for you.
My name is Christopher Wood, and I'm the editor of Due South West. I'm also a Contributing Editor for The Write Club and a contributor to EQView and Lovely Left Foot among others. I'm a music enthusiast first and foremost, but also a gig and music reviewer, as well as an interviewer and a contributor. I started out writing cultural pieces, but as I learnt more about the industry in the South West, I realised there was no real way for new and upcoming artists in South West England to get heard. As a result, Due South West was born in June 2014. I hope you enjoy using the site, and if you'd like to contact me as an artist, band or prospective contributor, please do so. I'm available on Twitter @crwexe or you can email me using the contact page - thank you!
My name is Sam Ford, and I'm from East Devon. While the music scene in my town is beginning to take shape, it is disappointing to see the West Country overlooked on the whole, when it is actually rich in arts and culture. I love to find out about great new sounds from all over the world, but to focus on the South West of England for once is so exciting. On Wednesdays I wear pink and write for the Band of the Week column.
